Souss Massa National Park Tour

Embark on a nature-filled journey to Souss Massa National Park, beginning with hotel pickup from Taghazout around 8:00 AM. Enjoy a scenic 40-minute drive through the beautiful Moroccan countryside before arriving at the park.
Established in 1991 and covering over 33,800 hectares, Souss Massa National Park was created to help restore and protect the Saharan wildlife of southern Morocco. The park features a nature trail along Oued Souss and a visitor center at Oued Massa.

This unique ecosystem is home to a wide variety of rare and endangered species. Oued Massa, which holds water year-round, provides critical breeding grounds for marbled ducks and is the only known breeding site in Morocco for the glossy ibis. Both Oued Souss and Oued Massa serve as important stopovers for migratory birds, especially waders and gulls.

Within the park, you’ll also find captive breeding programs for four endangered North African antelope species:
• Scimitar-horned oryx
• Addax
• Dama gazelle
• Dorcas gazelle
Efforts are also underway to reintroduce the North African ostrich, now extinct north of the Sahara.
During your visit, explore the on-site museum and learn about the park's ongoing conservation work. With over 250 species of birds, 30 types of mammals, and 35 species of reptiles and amphibians, keep your eyes open and camera ready as your guide leads you through this fascinating environment.
